O Lou Fatu E I Lou Aiga I Home Is Where The Heart Is
Welcome to our blog series, O Lou Fatu E I Lou Aiga — Home Is Where the Heart Is, where every story begins and ends with alofa.
At Amoa Resort Savai‘i, we are proud to honour this connection through a storytelling series featuring Samoa’s most inspiring sons and daughters.
From athletes and performers to artists, creators, and community leaders, these remarkable individuals carry Samoa with them wherever life takes them.
Join us as we share their journeys, celebrate their achievements, and reflect on what it means to be home in Savai‘i—a celebration for young and old, and a reminder that the heart always finds its way back.
Eddie Williams: A Champion’s Connection to Home
Strength, determination, humility and family are values that have shaped the remarkable journey of Eddie Williams.
Recognised internationally for his achievements in elite Strongman competitions, including being a two-time Australia’s Strongest Man champion, Eddie has proudly represented Samoa on the world stage while inspiring others through his work as a businessman, entertainer, digital creator and devoted family man.
This year, we were honoured to welcome Eddie, his wife and children to Amoa Resort as they returned to Savai’i to reconnect with their heritage and experience the island that continues to hold a special place in their hearts.
Reflecting on the visit, Eddie shared:
“Returning to Savai’i wasn’t just a holiday — it felt like our family was coming home. From the warmth of the people to the rhythm of island life, every moment carried that familiar sense of belonging.”
For the Williams family, the journey was an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and create lasting memories while exploring the beauty and culture of Samoa’s Big Island.
“The location of Amoa Resort is perfect and central for exploring all the beautiful landmarks that Savai’i offers. Amoa Resort isn’t just a place to visit; it’s a place where time slows down and welcomes you like family.”
During their stay, the family embraced island life, exploring Savai’i’s iconic attractions, experiencing local culture and enjoying our signature Fia Fia Night. Their visit served as a powerful reminder that no matter how far life takes us, there is something truly special about returning home — reconnecting with family, culture and community.
While Eddie’s accomplishments continue to inspire audiences around the world, it is his deep connection to family and his pride in his Samoan heritage that resonate most strongly. His story reflects the values that unite Samoans everywhere: resilience, humility, service and the enduring importance of home.
We extend our sincere thanks to Eddie and the Williams family for choosing to spend part of their Savai’i journey with us. We wish them continued success, happiness and many memorable adventures in the years ahead.
Fa’afetai lava, Williams family. We look forward to welcoming you home again soon.
